Kodiak mirror question

Yahoo Message Number: 1329
I find that I have a hard time seeing as much as I would like in my
passenger side rear view mirror. I seem to recall hearing that for
'08 the mirrors were extended.

I haven't been able to find anything on this. I am wondering if this
is so, and if so, how hard it would be to "upgrade" to newer mirrors.
Anyone know anything about this?

I find there is a blind spot on the passenger side, but not the drivers. I have a 2006 Kodiak chassis.

I have an 08 coach on an 08 chassis and I find the same thing most of
the mirrors field of view on the pass side is obstructed by the awning
arm on the side of the coach. So my guess is they are the same as on
the previous years.

When you say "as much as I would like" what exactly do you mean. I had the same problem and when I took it into a GMC Medium Duty Truck dealer who is also a Workhorse dealer I asked how I could adjust the mirror. To my amazement (and feelings of stupidity) you just move the black arm. Sure had me fooled in that I thought it was not flexible.

Like Don said you can move them. They have a detent where they are
meant to stay but I moved mine forward a bit to position it out a
little farther. It helps but still it could be better.

I, too, find that the view is blocked somewhat by the awning arm. I
am not very tall and that complicates the view. Not so much I can't
use the mirror, but I would like a more unobstructed view. I knew the
mirror moved because I moved it hoping to find more detents.

If the mirror will stay in place without being in a detent that may
help the situation enough. Basically, it isn't a critical issue, but
if the '08 mirrors were better and an easy swap, I thought I might do
it. I like to have as clear a view as possible into that lane to the
right. Looks like the mirrors are the same in '08.

**FWIW, I mentioned this to my dealer and he didn't know anything but
said he had "heard" that in some states the mirrors did not meet some
safety requirement and had to be modified or replaced. He didn't know
if this was true, or if so, in what states. I haven't called Jayco or
inquired further.
