Removing Dinette in a Jaco 33DS December 08, 2007, 12:01:14 pm Yahoo Message Number: 335Has anyone done this?I would like to remove it and put in a couple recliners but I see a fewissues:Removing the bolts for the seat belt frames. They come up through theslideout floor.Looks like the electrical for the fridge comes in under the seat plusthe electrical outlet under the seat.Carpet is cut for the seatbelt frame.and it appears the backrests are fastened somehow to the wallsAny ideas here would be appreciated. It may end up just leaving wellenough alone. Thanks, Doug Quote Selected

Removed the seatbelt bolts and put carriage bolts in place.Left one seat belt in to hold the recliner in place while traveling.Since we left the dinette had to put a molding on wall to support backof dinette seat. Are you sure there is no carpeting under dinette. This may be a good thing. Just install some wood like flooring or recarpet the whole area. This will cover the seatbelt holes. Be sure toseal holes from below slide.Getting recliners to fit into a MH can be a problem. A couple of goodchoices are the metal frame type you find in many stores or a lazyboy.Look for something that is 28" wide and can be taken apart to getthrew MH door. The electrical wires can be run threw some plastic conduit that ismade for attaching to a wall or floor. I go mine from Home Depot. When we removed the couch/hide-a-bed it had to be disassembled inorder to get it out of MH. Ended up just trashing it by the time iswas completely out. If you intend to sell MH someday be sure you areprepared to put dinette back in. May be hard to sell without it. Ifigure we will need to buy a new couch to replace the one we took out. Quote Selected
