At breakfast in the hotel today I met the couple who have the Damon
in for service. They are from Florida. Their dealer was absolutely
hopeless and would keep their MH for a month and they'd find
nothing done. They are about 6 months out of warranty but Damon is going
to fix everything. Their major problem is a slide that is not
working right. On the trip here from Florida they encountered heavy rain
and a closet was flooded. Damon is fixing everything because they
had notes documenting their reporting of problems to their dealer
during the warranty period. They said that without that evidence Damon
would not have invited them here to Elkhart. They even have a deal for
fuel cost recovery and Damon is paying for the hotel for 4 nights.
When I mentioned the drive-line whine the fellow stopped me and
started grilling me. Then he said - "I had the same problem on an
earlier unit - identical symptoms and it was the ring and pinion
in the differential. It was fixed under warranty. An expensive job
if left until it breaks." I've passed this on to Randy and our MH is
going to Mor/Ryde tomorrow for evaluation.
It is back from the paint factory and they will be working on the
other items until 2:30 PM. Then we get to stay in it in the
parking lot overnight.
I sure hope they get the problem identified and fixed. I don't
like
Don,
If you have a second, could you ask Randy to point out where the
inline water filter is located in our coach. I opened every
cabinet and cubby, and for the life of me, I can't find it. I'm pretty
sure we have one, I recall the tech mentioning it during the PDI. I
also have a manual for it!
Or for those of you with a Jayco product, where is it in your coach?
Don and I both own the same Jayco 32SS.
Thanks, Rich.
