Which Super C For Young Kids And Towing? February 19, 2008, 09:14:28 am Yahoo Message Number: 661No, I'm not looking to tow the young kids, but now that I thinkabout it... I'm looking at both travel trailers and Super C motorhomes. I havea 20 month old and a 4 year old, so I'd like to be able to put themin a separate sleeping area. I don't want to use a fold out couchor something in the living area. That way I can put them to bed andwe can stay up and play games, read, etc. in the living area.I also tow my 69 Road Runner to some shows on an open trailer usingmy 06 Dodge Ram Mega Cab 2500 CTD. If I get a motorhome, I'd liketo be able to use it to tow the Road Runner. If I don't get a motorhome, I might get a travel trailer, but that'sanother question for another forum. The trailer and Road Runner combine to be around 5500 pounds.Who has the best floorplan for keeping the kiddies in a separatesleeping area while still being able to tow? Normally I'm a fan ofoverkill when it comes to towing, but with motorhomes, overkill getsVERY expensive. Are the Gulfstream Supernova/Eduras bunk models really that muchbetter than the Gulfstream Ultra/Independence/Yellowstone/Conquest?Other than stickers, is there any difference between theUltra/Independence/Yellowstone/Conquest?I'm also looking at the Jayco Seneca HD bunkhouse, of course. Thanks!Brad Quote Selected

I plan on towing a 28'enclosed trailer with a 3000lb Nova in it total weight about 8500lbs.One of the reasons I chose this floorplan was with 1 slide and arelativly short floorplan it left some room for towing and notexceeding the GVWR or the GCWR although I will be close fully loaded.Too bad I got the last one they discontinued this floor plan latelast year. I like you am a big fan of overkill when towing but likeyou said that gets pricy quick when talking motorhomes. I would lookat the weights of the various models the ones on longer floorplanswith multiple slides seem to be the ones guys are complaining aboutbeing overloaded easily. The stickers/colors are the only differencein the Gulfstream models. I originally wanted an Ultra and was goingto order but because they axed the 6316 I had to take the last onethey had at the factory which was a Yellowstone. As far as the kidsgo if you didn't mind sleeping in the bunk or pull out, most of therear bedrooms are able to be separated from the main living area.you could simply stick them in the back bedroom close thedoor/curtain and have the rest of the coach to yourselves.Craig Quote Selected

Reply #2 – February 19, 2008, 02:06:20 pm Yahoo Message Number: 663Well, the rear bedroom is where I'd like for us to sleep and put thekiddies in the bunks (assuming I can install something to prevent my4 year old son from rolling out of the top bunk).I just can't see paying all this money for a motorhome and not beingable to sleep in the best bed. I guess if we brought the out-laws with us, we'd have to give up therear bedroom. My mother-in-law wouldn't be able to climb up intoany upper bed.Can anyone tell me if the Supernova/Endura are really much nicerthan Gulfstream's "regular" Super Cs?BradQuoteI just picked up a 08 Yellowstone 6316. Fromwhat I can tell most of the Endura/Supernovas have been optioned alittle bit different (more leather, lighter decore). Not somethingthat nessiarily appeals to me, more along the lines of something Ifigure a retiree may like. They do have the molded fiberglass endcaps and the class A style slam hatches on the storage compartmentswhich are nice. As far as the interior appointments I think they arepretty similar. If it had been in my budget I deffinetly would havestepped up to the Supernova or at least the international chassis tobump the towing capacity but I couldn't swing the extra 30k or soover the Kodiak Quote Selected
