Is this a member of our group or some spammer who infiltrated our
peaceful domain?

She is a member but we can ban/delete if you so wish. Don't know/remember what she put down as to why she wanted to join.

Well I hate to toss someone if they really want to be here, but I hate
to see shameless spam too. I'm more than happy to support any member's
business if I can, but if the reason for being here is solely to promote
it at our expense, then I'm not happy.

Take care,
Greg

I agree. I know Ron said he would watch it and if it gets out of hand take
action. If we get enough members that say stop, we can ban the posts.

In Ron We Trust :-)))))

Speaking of campground directories....has anyone on the list gotten the
new Magellan GPS with the Good Sam directory as part of it? I was
wondering how the regular guys felt about it. I've read the reviews and
it seems positive, but since I do product reviews for some magazines in
another hobby, I know how editors can work them to sound "not negative" ;-)

Take care,
Greg

I bought and (sent back almost immediately) the Trailer Life Directory software for my laptop. I don't think it is user friendly. Not sure if they are similar in how they find CG and set up routes. I use an HP mini laptop as my GPS, nice size screen (10") and I was able to make a small shelf that sits on the dash.

GOOD. I was going to toss them out (I tossed them out earlier and they came back with a different user name) but I had to play in a golf scramble this morning.

Have you thawed out yet. Must be something better to do than golf this time of year.

Are you kidding. It was hot and humid here in Florida - we roasted. :)

I was hoping to win but we didn't start playing until the 7th hole. Won 3 out of 6 monthly scranbles last year and the year before.

Did win the bocci tournament last week and had the high series with handicap in bowling for the month so can't complain.

Don

ps. Added a travel trailer to our fleet. It was delivered yesterday. Now the fun of finding the glitches. Have a half dozen so far. Lazydays has been pretty good - surprised me in fact. This is what we got (it sits next to our park model and will only be towed as far as the storage area in the off season. Park rules requires tie down and skirting but no insurance company will insure it if tied down and skirted. They had four models that were identical except for colour trim inside.

Now Phil has his own bunk room and bath. So far only little items but they are going to have to come 45 miles to make the fixes. Our Escape that we towed down sure can't tow this back to Lazydays for service. :)

Don: Us yanks are sure glad that you vacation south of the 49th. You're quickly becoming a one man stimulas package. Could you please provide your consulting expertise to our Super-commitee and straighten them out also. Enjoy the upcoming holidays.....russ

it seems that all the directories pretty much suck. I have google maps to be OK, works fantastic on my smartphone.

I've used the TL Directory software for several years for trip planning
and for the most part have been satisfied, but I do careful comparisons
between its routing and my GPS routing. Neither is perfect, but between
the two I can usually stay out of trouble. I use a Garmin 1490T for a GPS.

I did notice that the trip routing in the 2011 version of the TL
software wasn't as good as the previous year. I haven't ordered the 2012
version yet and am not sure if I will. I think the software is pretty
over priced.

I have their campground finder for the iPhone app and am not very
impressed with that.

There is a free iPhone/iPad app called AllStays Camp & RV or something
like that, that I find pretty decent. It's a good quick reference, but
what I do like is it gives you low overpass warnings. Last year in
Denver, my GPS and TL software had me going thru a section of Denver
that had a 12 ft underpass and I only happened to notice because I was
looking at the iPhone program the night before.

The overpass and width issue is why I'm wondering about the new Magellan
GPS. It lets you enter your vehicles stats for dimension and weight.

Take care,
Greg

I checked out the I phone app from Allstays. They now want $2.99 for the camping App.
I did find a Woodall's app that seems to work well. Also have Passport America's App. Saw a note the other day. Where Camp Club has sold out to PA.
Things are happening at Affinity. Good Sam sent me a email with Camping world adds. Saw where PC and Sams Club will be the same membership. Could be good stuff for us and Affinity.
I use a POI file from POI Factory in my Garmin. List almost 17,000 campgrounds. Also have other camping POI loaded.
