I was looking for a K&N air filter for the big gasser in my Kodiak but
couldn't find any. However I did find what appears to be an identical
oiled cotton filter made by AFE (Advanced Flow Engineering). The specs
looked good so I ordered one. This thing is very high quality and
actually looks like it came off of the K&N assembly line. I installed
the AFE filter and immediately noted an improvement in acceleration.
Sorry I don't have any more before/after specific performance data on
this. I've used K&N filters for years so the first thing I always do
with any new vehicle is install one. So after my initial search, I was
happy to locate the AFE filter. Cost was a little over $95 on-line with
free UPS shipping.

Bill,
I was getting ready to buy an AFE filter myself. Thanks for the
report.
Did you get the 5 layer or the 7 layer? And which place did you get
it at?
Just wish someone made a cold air intake for the gasser.
Thanks,
Bill

Bill,
I ordered from Auto Parts Warehouse on-line. They only showed one oiled
cotton model available (part no. A151010097). It's made of red urethane
plastic. It's a big'un.
