Mirrors July 26, 2007, 09:05:26 pm Yahoo Message Number: 29I'd like to adjust the right mirror by turning it inward a bit as theelectric adjustment of the top panel doesn't allow me to bring it inenough.I can find nothing in then Kodiak or Jayco manual on this. I removedthe black cap at the bottom of the arm that the mirror sits on thinkingthere would something there to loosen so I could turn it in. Appearsthat is not the case. Anyone else addressed this? We are leaving fora long weekend tomorrow and I'd sure like to turn that mirror in a bit -otherwise I have to lean way back to see the side of the MH.ThanksDon Quote Selected
Re: Mirrors Reply #1 – July 27, 2007, 05:05:15 am Yahoo Message Number: 30I have a similar problem. But I cannot get away from a small dead spotwhen a car is just about even with rear edge of passenger side door.Added a suction cup mirror on a short arm that picks up side of MH andthe blind area. Got it at CW.http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/index.cfm/Outdoor-and-RV-Accessories/TowNSee-Mirror/Convex/skunum=33272 Quote Selected

Re: Mirrors Reply #3 – July 27, 2007, 08:32:25 am Yahoo Message Number: 32Good Morning Gentlemen, I looked at stick on blind spot mirrors andnot finding any of them suitable, I added one of the Pod Mount mirrorsfrom here. http://www.sureplus.com/products/safety.htmI initially mounted one on the passenger side, but liked theadditional visibility so much I added one on the drivers side as well. The only place I found to purchase these were from the large truckdealerships. I don't have any pictures available, but if you look attrucks on the highway, you'll see these, they mount them on the sideof the hood near the front of the truck. Some of them are mounted farenough forward that they provide visibility to the front of the truck.http://www.sureplus.com/products/safety.htm"Pod Mount"The World's Best Surface Mount Truck Safety MirrorFully AdjustableOUTSIDE the hood!(No need to raisethe hood to adjust.) Unlike any other surface or hood mount mirror available, Sure Plus'new "POD MOUNT" eliminates the potential danger and inconvenience ofhaving to raise the hood to adjust the angle of arm orientation.Simply remove one set-screw on the pod cover and make all youradjustments with the hood down, where it normally rests... where youcan see the mirror's view angle rather than the old "set & guess"methods you must use with the others!Best of all, "POD MOUNT" is mountable at any angle, which allowsvision and blind spot elimination in front of the cab and down theside preventing front end and lane change accidents. Mirror Alignment Reply #4 – July 27, 2007, 12:53:33 pm Yahoo Message Number: 33Hi Don ~As you probably, know the mirror arm has a "breakaway" swivel feature that allows the arm to move forward and back, with an indentation to hold it in a default position. The best solution I found was to swivel the entire mirror arm outward a few inches to improve the angle of view, and then readjust both right side mirrors. If tilted properly the lower mirror prevents any blind spots. On our recent trip to Alaska, the arm stayed in place most of the time. As a more permanent solution though, I plan to drill two holes in the bracket that attaches the mirror arm to the chassis, and screw in two small sheet metal screws to act as a fore and aft retainer. Besides holding the mirror arm firmly in place, if the mirror were to hit anything, the heads of the screws would sheer off maintaining the emergency breakaway feature.Hope that helps.CraigFrom: KodiakChassisClassC@yahoogroups.com [mailto:KodiakChassisClassC@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Donald A.
