Rich, please give us a step by step on what you do, how much fluid you lose (none, hopefully), etc.

ps. Attached is Service Tip 1099f from Allison. More than you ever wanted to know. Whoops, it is 2.1 MB so anyone who doesn't have an would like it please let me know and I'll send direct. Any members on a slow connection won't appreciate a file this size.

I've posted the Allison 1099f Service Tip to the Files section of our group so it can be dowloaded directly by any interested group participant.
You will find it at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/KodiakChassisClassC/files/Kodiak%20/ (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/KodiakChassisClassC/files/Kodiak%20/)

I just changed the spin-on filter on our Allison 1000 tranny. It was
pretty straight forward, the filter was easily accessible by crawling
under the driver's side door. It was easy to get a standard strap-
type wrench onto the filter. I did lose a little transmission fluid
(approx 8 fl. oz.). One note, don't forget to take the magnet from
the old filter and insert it in the new one. It goes between the
filter and the transmission.
It's off to San Diego for a nice long weekend.
Regards, Rich Panganiban.

Rich, did you have some TranSynd available to top it up again?
