Isn't it wonderful. We go to the base for archery shoots several times a year. We only live 30 miles from where you are now. What did you think of Deception Pass? I know, we are pretty lucky to live in such an awesome place. Enjoy your stay. And thanks for bringing summer with you. Much nicer than what we had in June and the first part of July.

Do you have to be a vet or active service to stay there?
Always looking for "local" places to go.
I am in Tualatin OR but that would still be close for us.

Lots great parks in the area. Try Belfair State park southwest of Bremerton. We went there a few years ago.

We spent some time in the Olympics - Stayed in Sequim - Gilgal RV Park - close to Dungeness Bay and Sequim dog park. Rainbows was booked. Some dog restrictions in the WA parks (we travel with our entire pack so this can be an issue.)

Down the coast we also stayed in La Push (Quileute Indian Reservation) campground was new and empty. Vampires are an issue though.

La Push

The Hoh Rain Forest is one of the most unique places in the United States, worth a visit. You would not believe a place like this could be in the mainland US.

Hoh Rain Forest - Photos do not do it justice

So don't ignore the other side of the Olympics, and the mountains themselves. Did some nice off road trails up there in the Jeep. Not too challenging - but spectacular. Lots of wildlife and views.
