Converter location on the Dutchmen C January 24, 2008, 12:43:58 pm Yahoo Message Number: 487I think I must be the only Four Winds Kodiak owner on the site, but in case I am wrong, chances are other owners never found the converter location. This morning, I began the search. After exhausting almost all options, I decided to look under the bed..... Woolah!! While the inverter is located in a highly flammable location at the foor of the bed, and converter is wedged behind a side panel, mounted vertically (on its side) in the under bed storage compartment. No way to reach it, unless you grope in a very dark space surrounded by bundles of wiring.I will post some pics later today on my www. RVFactor.blogspot.com later today.DennyStart the year off right. Plenty of room to work on it if you remove the supprtson the bed.mine did not come with a inverter but I installed my own under thesink. This looked to be the best spot due to it had to be with in 6'of the bat.Bryce McAllisterStation 4Firefighter(734)780-8203 Quote Selected
Re: Converter location on the Dutchmen C Reply #2 – January 25, 2008, 11:50:02 am Yahoo Message Number: 490Thanks Bryce, I had my "verters" mixed up. The CONverter is at the foot of the bed, the INverter is mounted on the interior sidepanel under the bed, behind another side panel. If I remove the side panel, I have access if I move the mattress to the living room, then remove the supports for the underbed cover.... I am curious why your coach didn't come with an inverter, and why it has to be within 6 feet of the battery? What model/year do you have? Also, my remote inverter panel by the front door does not seem to be working either.... the green light is lit on the inverter, but not on the remote.... when I depress the remoter "button", nothing happens... any ideas? I checked he connections which seems to be ok.Denny Quote Selected
Re: Converter location on the Dutchmen C Reply #3 – January 26, 2008, 01:17:57 pm Yahoo Message Number: 499I have a 06 33k four winds. The inverter was not ordered by thedealer. I wanted more power while driving down the road. So I went fora 1800w to run 3 circuts (entertainment center, laptop, extra plug forphone charger. The reason for the 6ft Is the max for distance for the inverter tobattery bank per the specs of the inverter. The remote is normalconected by a data cable or a phone cable. Sometimes when you pull onit will cause a loose conection.Hope this helpsOn another note make sure you talk to the head of service when youmake your appointment. I can't find his name here at work. I willemail it to you directly when I find it. He helped me out alot and Iam very happy with my coach.Bryce McAllisterStation 4Firefighter(734)780-8203 Quote Selected
