Another forum January 11, 2008, 12:38:55 pm Yahoo Message Number: 380There is another forum on the net at rvnet.com/forum that is alsovery informative especially about the suspension. Jayco is addingnew heavier springs on my 08 seneca GS35 as we speak and next week Iwill be adding koni's ( best shocks you can buy for a big heavyunit), safety steer and a auxillary rear sway bar and from what I amtold this will take all the wondering and swaying out of the unitplus the sag in the rear. Also will reduce the wear on the tires.I have spoken to Jayco on these OSHA issues and they are going to fixmost of the issues on the new units but unfortunately that does notsolve current owner issues.Has anyone found a source for better headlights as the standard onesare also a safety issue for those of us who drive at night. Also is anyone has an issue with the transmission guage not workingthis is also a Jayco issue and they will either replace or repare itas necessary.Hope all is well with each of you in the New Year.Dane Quote Selected

When I started this group I simply put the address behind my signature on RV.net and iRV2 and that has been the source of most of our 65+ members. The purpose of this group is to provide for questions that one would like to address to an audience of Kodiak only owners. What I find frustrating with your post is that Jayco hasn't addressed these items since they've been reported regularly for the last few years. In my case, I'm not experienced some of these problems, but then my Greyhawk was orphaned very quickly.I have been wondering about the transmission temp gauge since it never moves - but that was the same experience we had with the trans temp gauge on our Ambassador. The theory in some parts is that the TranSynd runs that cool. With our DP (Ambassador and o4 Journey before it) whenever I tried to check the fluid level (which had to be done from the shift pad) I got a message that the fluid wasn't hot enough (even after hours of use).I'm hoping to take my GH in for factory service in April and I'll ask them to check the gauge at that time.Welcome aboard.DonOn 11-Jan-08, at 12:38 PM, dane.goodwin wrote: Quote Selected
Re: Another forum Reply #3 – January 11, 2008, 07:08:48 pm Yahoo Message Number: 383I think that you better wait and try to get the transmission "hot"before you decide the gauge is bad. I thought mine was bad also atfirst. Back during August, on a very hot and humid day, I took myGreyhawk 32SS 8.1 to a local high school parking lot. I drove aroundwith the A/C on, windows down , in low gear real slow, then I wouldstop and idle for 4 or 5 minutes with the transmission still ingear. Finally, after doing this for 10 or 15 minutes I got the gaugeto get up above 200. I do not remember for sure the axact reading, but I was pleased to see that it worked. I think between thecoolers, fan, and the synthetic fluid, it just takes a good bit toget these transmissions hot. Again, this is just my opinion and myexperience. On the highway cruising it would hardly ever move offthe lowest reading. If Scangauge ever gets the codes for the Allison figured out and postthem on their site, we will be able to compare that with the gauge.MikeQuoteDane, you will find that most of the participants in this groupare also on RV.net. Re: Another forum Reply #4 – January 12, 2008, 07:20:55 pm Yahoo Message Number: 385-Thanks and I am beating Jayco to death on these issues. In fact Iam going to make an appointment with the CEO this summer and go upand talk to him personally. I know all RVs have issues but this isreally a safety issue. For RV pappy OSHA is the Occupational Safetyand Health Administration. May not be the right place but at leastthey can direct me to the right place. The address iswww.rv.net/forums/index and got to Class C then Super C for Senecaissues and I will tell you this is a much better site but they alsodiscuss issues.I have an appointment on the 28th with RV masters in Tennessee to dosome work on the suspension and I will let you know the outcome. Iam going to bill Jayco but will not hold my breath.Glad to be a member and thanks to all with the good information andissues.God BlessDane-- In KodiakChassisClassC@yahoogroups.comQuoteDane, you will find that most of the participants in this groupare also on RV.net. another forum Reply #6 – January 11, 2008, 09:51:13 pm Yahoo Message Number: 384I also think the fluid makes the differance in the transmission gauge, on mine it never moved and I was putting it on the list to have fixedbut on vacation in WV at Hatfield and McCoy trails I went up a switchback drive from 800 ft to 1800 at top of the hill, and by time got totop it was getting hot and moving !!!
