Emissions Recall

In December, I took my 2008 Seneca in to the dealer for the
recall. Since that time, I seem to have lost about 1 MPG and
the unit is using a little oil (1 Quart in 1500 miles). It
does seem to have a little more power though. Has anyone else
noticed this or do you have any other things that has happened
since the recall. I am thinking of asking to have the recall
removed.

I did the recall as well on my e
2008 seneca 36 MS

Just in a trip did 9.3 mpg ( there must be about 20 min of generator in ths calculation) not different than used to be before the recall, need to check the oil now got worried but aside of the very annoying idle automatic shut down I have not notice any difference

I actually felt that I had a little more power when I came back from the dealer and the mileage (towing a crew cab 4wd Canyon) is 9.22 overall (since new) and 9.38 since recall (over the last 3 weeks).

If you want to eleminate the shutdown don't use the parking brake. According to the manual if the parking brake is on the 5 min idle shutdown is active. Mine doesn't shut down with the brake off.

What was/is the recall about? I just purchased a 2007 Jayco 35HS Diesel. Is there any way to know if it was done?

There was a "re-program" of the EGR valve operation so the new emissions filters didn't clog as fast or some such issue. From what I understand it actually had more affect on trucks that idled for long periods of time (wreckers, buses, etc) but some of us were part if it.

Also, it only affects the models that have the new emissions. So if your chassis was built before Jan 1, 2007, you do not get the recall.

I think that can be figured out by your VIN and by checking the engine in the build codes.
