A Philosophical View... February 06, 2008, 02:58:42 pm Yahoo Message Number: 581Long windy post alert...Greetings fellow Kodiak brethren & sistren. I come to you with hat in hand to express my hope that all of my recent posts and photos have not painted me in your minds as a whiner & complainer with a big axe to grind. On the contrary we do indeed like our Jayco 33DS. The floorplan is perfect for us and it's extremely roomy with lots of storage. Also the Kodiak chassis has performed flawlessly. This is our 4th motorhome and for the money, I don't think we could have gotten a better coach to suit our particular lifestyle and needs. So why all of my recent pictures & posts...? I believe the more informed we all are, in all aspects, regarding our homes-on-wheels, the better off we'll be and the happier our RV'ing experience will be. These blogs and forums are amazingly wonderful communications tools. I can only wish we'd had this form of communications exchange back in 1991 when we got our first motorhome. If for no other reason, these forums let all of us know we are not alone in this sometimes overwhelming RV experience. There are tons of neat improvement ideas and as for dealing with real or perceived problems, there's no match for being able to share concerns with those who may have already been down a particular path... and even if they haven't, there's no shortage of problem solving opinions. Furthermore this stuff lets us all hang out "electronically" with other goofy folks like ourselves who love this lifestyle. :-)So from a long-time happy camper... many thanks to Denny for setting up and maintaining this forum. I for one certainly have gained from everyone's participation here and on RVNet, etc. as well.Bill Quote Selected

Thanks, Don, for bringing us together...and if there be at least one "whinner" in the group, let it be me... I do kinda feel like a loner, with all you Jayco folks around...Denny Quote Selected
Re: A Philosophical View... Reply #2 – February 06, 2008, 04:16:50 pm Yahoo Message Number: 584I was thinking you needed to lighten up a little and spend the timefixing the items. Which you may find a better thing with knowledgethat it was fixed correctly instead of waiting for a dealer.Did not say anything because it does give a heads up to others on whatto look for on their RV's. Keep posting the pictures and fixes whenthey are completed. Quote Selected
Re: A Philosophical View... Reply #3 – February 06, 2008, 05:33:36 pm Yahoo Message Number: 585Whoops...!!! I'm sorry Don! Many, many thanks for your efforts!I knew it was your board and I was just thinking of you (well... actually it was probably envy) down South enjoying the sunny Florida climate. Also wanted to tell you that I learned that using the "Rich Text Editor (beta)" option solves the picture posting problem I was having. For some reason the standard editor cuts off the last few characters of a long HTML photo linkBill Quote Selected
Re: A Philosophical View... Reply #4 – February 06, 2008, 05:48:30 pm Yahoo Message Number: 586Bill, I'm a Mac user and what I do is simply post it as a link, which is a feature of Apple Mail. The key thing is to get the right URL and then it goes as one piece.DonOn 6-Feb-08, at 5:33 PM, berfle624 wrote: Quote Selected

Re: A Philosophical View... Reply #6 – February 06, 2008, 06:29:50 pm Yahoo Message Number: 588Don, I'm pretty sure I've been getting the entire URL as I can see itall after I paste it into the reply text. There's something wrong withthe standard version of the Yahoo Group post editor because as soon as Ihit "Send", the editor does not transform any of the URL characters thatline-wrapped around, as being part of the URL. Those characters arestill visible within the posted message but are not being included aspart of the URL (i.e. not underlined). If the link is short enoughhowever, so as not to cause a line wrap, then it gets picked up OK. Inany case this problem got addressed in the new beta-version editor. Nowwith all that said... it may also just be an IE browser issue that theApple browser handles differently (i.e. correctly).Billp.s. have you gotten one of those new paper-thin iMac's yet? Re: A Philosophical View... Reply #7 – February 06, 2008, 06:39:59 pm Yahoo Message Number: 589In my case it has nothing to do with a browser. I refuse to use web mail (unless I'm travelling without my computer) so all of my primary email accounts are POP3 accounts using Apple Mail or Netscape Mail. Both mail handlers have send features that let you put in a link so that it covers off the line wrap and is clickable.DonOn 6-Feb-08, at 6:29 PM, berfle624 wrote: Quote Selected
More than Jayco here... Conquest (Gulfstream) wannabe too! Reply #8 – February 07, 2008, 07:57:46 pm Yahoo Message Number: 595Quote from: Dmyhre943@... snip....I do kinda feel like a loner, with all you Jayco folks around.DennyNo Denny, I'm out here too. We're in the process of downsizing froma 40' Monaco Dynasty (tag axle w/470ISP Cummins). We were "fulltiming"the past 8 years but now we've bought another house. I first likeda Conquest (Gulfstream) Super Nova, but after looking and driving Idecided it wasn't enough of a downsize. We're now liking the Conquest(Gulfstream) "Super C" gasser, Model 6319YK. It's 33 feet on a 19,500GVWR Kodiak with 3,000 CCC and a 26,000 GCWR. (The diesel version hasthe larger Kodiak with 33,900 GCWR & 25,900 GVWR, but adds $32,473 tothe MSRP... yikes)! And then there is the much higher diesel fuelcost to consider. I'm afraid the inversion and spread between dieseland gas cost will never reverse back to the good old days. I fondlyremember driving I-5 in California in 1999 when diesel was 89 centsand gas was well over a buck.Regards, Don Blake, Owner/Moderatorhttp://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/InternetByCellPhonehttp://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/InternetByDataCardhttp://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/InternetByWiFi Quote Selected
