Miss Bette and I are noodling around the idea of removing the dinette
and putting in some sort of desk system, Or perhaps a combination of
filing cabinets, a shelf on top for desk space, and maybe a small table
and two chairs... obviously, we don't want to overload the slideout.
Has anyone out there removed the dinette, and short of just putting in
a table and chairs, done anything like our idea? Appreciate photos, of
course!!!!

We removed the couch from our GS. Just two of us. Did not need the
uncomfortable thing. DW would not let me remove the dinette. She wants
the storage and the fixed seats. Have already replaced fold down table
with a oak pedestal table with a 12" extendable leaf.
I did some measuring in our MH today. Opening for couch is 65".
Opening for dinette is 72". That extra 7" would make it easier to get
2 small recliner in the area and be able to use both of them at the
same time.
Made a cabinet desk for the area where couch was. Attached are some
photo's I took of it.
