My gauge was on the red mark but when I filled it to the top it only tool 63 US gallons. Jayco says it is an 80 Gal tank. Was there 17 gal still in the tank?

80 gallons plus about another 20 for expansion. The tag on tanks will say 109 gallons.

My Fourwinds 34G C5500 2006 chassis also give me a very similar indication.

I try to fill between 1/4 and 1/2 so as to preserve the ability to use the genset at any time.

I have put 66 gallons in and the guage had under 1/4. I too want to make sure I have plenty for the genset.

I filled mine up last night, the needle was on the red and the tank took 72 gallons.

I am sure you could have driven another 70 miles before filling up to check if you can get 80 gallons in tank. (https://ec.yimg.com/ec?url=http%3A%2F%2Fus.i1.yimg.com%2Fus.yimg.com%2Fi%2Fmesg%2Ftsmileys2%2F04.gif&t=1571451047&sig=gegtTNV5nxRMb1TxQ8zOFQ--~E)
