Related question for the group, (if anyone is brave enough to admit running out of fuel :). How low does the fuel gauge get before you are out of gas?

The closest I got was a 72 gallon fill with the needle almost on E. Too close for comfort with a diesel engine.

I've never paid attention to that, I have noticed my 100 gallon tank looks to have a 3 gallon dent in it.
I only know my largest fill up required 5 credit card swipes to restart after the pump hit the limit, then another 2 swipes in the boat.
