Turning Radius of the Kodiak...............

Yahoo Message Number: 6917

I have been told that the large turning radius of the Kodiak is a major problem in RV parks. Is this true?

Thank You (in advance) for Your Response

The turning radius on my Kodiak is better than it was using either my
E350 diesel van or my Chevy 2500 crewcab towing my trailer. I love the
turning radius of the Kodiak, but I can tell you the exact figures for
the turns. I've found it easier than maneuvering the 33ft trailer behind
the trucks.

Take care,
Greg

Seems odd as the turning radius was used as a selling feature. 35' diameter per the brochure which also lists F-450/F-550 at 52' in comparison. The brochure also claims this is tighter than a 'midsize' car (of course they don't list a make/model).

My Four Winds 34G can out turn my F-350 and Chevy Suburban. I have never experienced a lack of turning ability in any park I have visited.

Actually the opposite. These things turn circles around comparable C class units. I drive my 34' virtually anywhere, any parking lot and never worried about getting stuck.

Must have been some quack sales guy steering you away from a particular unit.

Turning Radius for the Kodiak is 17.5' Ford E450 is just over 27'. That's a big difference. I am amazed at how little space is required to do a U-trun with my MH. Less than 4 lanes are needed. A E450 needs over 5 lanes to do the same maneuver.

Clyde,

I am always surprise how easy I can turn my 36MS, I do not do crazy turns and I am very carefull always, but I was surprise how easy was to pull in and out of some gas stations.
at campgrounds I have never had a problem.
One thing I am carefull is paying attention to the over hang in back, I worry if it would swing out and hit something in a tight turn, but usually is not a problem either.

Who ever told you that probably never driven one before.
good luck
Mo
