how to level with manual jacks July 17, 2012, 06:30:12 pm Yahoo Message Number: 9481Hello all, I have a gulfstream conquest with the manual leveling jack setup. I seem to always have 'issues' when I try to level.1st - is it ok to have the front wheels off the ground ?2nd - would this also be ok for the rear wheels ?I did read that I should be going for fore and aft level before trying side to side.I bought one of those X looking levels that have a green and red light on each end. Thanks for any help.Bruce Quote Selected

Re: how to level with manual jacks Reply #2 – July 18, 2012, 04:33:33 am Yahoo Message Number: 9486Proper way to level a GS with manual leveling is.1. With rear controls. Level side to side.2. When rear is level. Level front to rear. You only need to use one of the front controls to level. Either front button activates both valves/jacks.3. When level, I then remove as much load from rear jacks to keep rear of MH close to ground. Be careful do this if site was off level side to side.4. Adjust front jacks to level front to rear.5. Run slides out.6. Touch up side to side jacks to keep things level from weight of slides.Never take all the weight off rear wheels. This will take away emergency and parking brake use.I sometimes end up with front tires off ground. If I am staying longer than a night I put blocks under front tires.BestRon Hall Quote Selected

Re: how to level with manual jacks Reply #7 – July 20, 2012, 11:29:53 am Yahoo Message Number: 9503Is that a different brand/type of leveling system you are describing?I had resently re-read my instructions for my 34SS and had remembered the manual stated to set the front first as there are no side to side adjustments then the rear after which the side to side.I had been setting the rear first and thought the side to side pertained to front and rear so it stuck in my head that second time around.Kev Quote Selected
