Help On Seneca

I have the check brake light on and dinging, chassis overhead coach lights on the outside not working. We have checked every fuse, put in brake fluid etc and still cannot get it to stop or the lights working. Any suggestions? Dane

Possibly two different issues?

1) The break switch PART # 25771554. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/?CFID=4807111&CFTOKEN=60175837 is prone to failure. Replacing that switch solved a lot of problems for me, and I carry a spare. I believe that Ron also had a wiring problem under the flow switch of the master cylinder that resulted in the same symptoms, but that is from memory and I will let him speak to that.

2) Are you talking about the external running lights or the Marker lights sometimes labeled External 1 and 2?

The most common reason for brake chimes and Service Brakes Soon light is brake switch failure. Use number Kevin provided and get one.
Most common reason is a brake controller being wired to switch. See Bulletin 66. http://www.gmupfitter.com/publicat/bull/bull66.pdf
These wire on passenger side frame rail in from passenger door.
I also had another problem with Hydro-Boost flow switch. Bad connection. Cleaned connectors of the switch and all was OK.
For clearance lights, check the drawings under files.
