light bulbs

Have you Jayco owners had to replace many light bulbs in your coaches?? I have had my Dutchmen since last June, and I think I have replaced EVERY bulb. I don't know if they are all made in China, or if there is some kind of electrical issue. Occasionally, I will get a "surge" in the brightness of the bulbs, just for a moment, then back to "normal." The coach has a WFCO 55 amp power converter, mounted under the bed, surrounded by carpeting and sawdust and wiring, despite the cautionary language that states to not mount near combustible materials as the unit can cause sparks. Again, nobody reads the instructions.

Just about 7 months for us. No bulbs changed yet.

Denny, I think they built half of your MH on a Friday as they rushed to get away for the weekend. Then, on Monday they completed it when they were exhausted from a heavy weekend. It is sure sounding like it came from the crew that built our Winne, and had the same quality control crew inspect it - Larry, Curly and Moe. :(

the porch light bulb and last week I replaced the 2 flourescent bulbs
in the toilet room.

I've only had my 32SS since September, but no bulbs out yet. I would
like to find a bulb that isn't as bright as the little spot lights over
the bed for reading lights. That's a project I'll look into one day. I
asked the parts guy at Camping World one day and he said it had to be
the same bulb, but I don't see why as long as the voltage is right.

Take care,
Greg

Ah, so right. DW loves to read and I find that light very bright as well. I think I'll look for lower watts for hers as well. Leave mine as is of course. :)

I have not had any bulbs burn out yet on our 2004 GS. When I added 4
reading lights they had halogen bulbs. Went to CW and picked out
smaller bulbs that had same twist-lock ends as the halogen. First
guess was wrong. Bulbs were too dim. Next trip to CW I got the next
size larger bulb. Light is just right now. CW has lots of bulbs with
the same end as the reading lights that are in our MH. The only ones
that I have not resized are the ceiling lights. We do not normally use
these lights unless a bright light is needed. GS put 9 of these lights
down the center of MH. Replaced 4 of them with double florescent
fixtures that have a switch to only run one of the bulbs for less light.
