2008 Seneca MPGs

" Low mileage 11,000 and great gas mileage of 14 mpg on highway as this is a motor home on a Chevrolet truck! "

This is the 2nd owner of a Seneca listed for sale that has said these kind of numbers. Is this a realistic mpg figure for a 2008 Seneca with the Duramax engine. I assume these kind of numbers would be best case scenario, my best case Ford V10 is 8.4 mpg (55 MPH) on level ground and no headwind.

The other owner said he got 14 to 15 mpg coach only and 10 to 14 mpg towing a vehicle at 60 to 65 MPH

Thanks
Ray Hamilton

I wish... have same unit and towing 3500lbs trailer I get at best 8.0 mpg at 65 mph and that is with a PPE tuner applied. Those numbers would be empty going down hill maybe?!?!?

In 30k miles, my Gulfstream Endura diesel has averaged 9mpg with a range of 8 to 11 on any particular tank/conditions.

Almost 60,000 miles on my 2004 34' GS Endura. Average MPG is 10.3. I can see in the mid 12's on some runs. But it is not long before I get a mid 8 MPG reading to knock it back down to 10.3. I try to stay between 58 to 62 mph.
For comparison gas models of the same motorhome see a average of 8 mpg.

We've got 31,000 on our 08 35GS and have documented every gallon..The average has been consistent at 8.87, towing at 60-62. Have been to Denver twice, as well as many trips North and South from Ohio.

Get average 12mpg towing car hauler trailer with honda accord on board with my 2008 35GS. It has been consistently thus since I purchased the vehicle new in late 2007. I use Amsoil Synthetic Oil and since converting to this high end oil in early 2008 have had at least 2mpg improvement at average speed of 60 - 65 mph. I could see higher mpg if I wasn't towing. Extremely satisfied with vehicle performance to date.

Over 47,000 miles on my 2008 Seneca 34SS, I have averaged 9.7mpg. I tow a heavy toad and that mileage covers from Phoenix to San Diego approximately every two months, once a year, Phoenix to Portland, OR and a couple times a year Phoenix to the bootheel of Missouri. I keep track of my mileage and expenses with RVer's notebook.

I own a 08 35GS Seneca and get 11 to 9 mpg which depends on the terrain. Hilly areas it gets 9. Not towed so no number there. Here in AR we have mountain roads where we want to camp so its about 9. On a trip with average roads it will get the 11 plus a few tenths even.
