Tom, I have a 2007 Four Winds diesel with 12039 miles on it. I have owned three class A's previously and with my wife's health problem, traveling is not what it once was. It has not been advertised yet and will let it go very reasonable. Charlie Home 636-978-8626 Cell 314-302-6868

Tom, take a good look at the later model / chassis Four Winds and skip the older (04) Gulfstream - the new ones (Kodiak) ride much nicer.

Welcome to Kodiak Chassis Class C Motorhomes.
The Kodiak Chassis suspension has not changed since it was introduced in
2003. Some manufacturers have added a few upgrades and figure out that
hey were building some models on the wrong weight chassis/rear axle load
springs and tires.
I have looked at the 6378 MH with a diesel engine. Was impressed with
its handling. It is built on the 15,000 rear axle chassis. In 2005 Gulf
Stream started using the STABIL-RIDE
Suspension System. This made a big difference in handling of the Endura
and other Super C''s. I upgraded mine with the parts I purchased from
McCormick Motors.
I am not sure the 2005 got the frame upgrade that 2006 and later models
got. This is above the rear axle area and supports the floor in bathroom
area. Not a hard fix if it does not have it. You will see pictures of
this fix in my photos.
I uploaded some Gulf Stream brochures in the files section. Ask more
questions. Will be glad to answer them.

I have a 2008 Gulfstream Conquest 6341 with gas engine, 5500 Kodiak, with the STABILI-RIDE, and am a fairly new member here.
Just completed a 1500 mile trip from South Carolina to Colorado, no toad this trip. 875 miles of trip was yesterday.
Power was good, handling/ride was good.
Had severe headwinds and crosswinds across Nebraska; mileage took a real hit.
Once I drove out of the winds, MH made the last steady climb of 1500 ft of elevation with no speed reduction (70-75 mph) and no shifting.
I am still considering getting air bags installed.
Ron, others: May I please get recommendations for air bags; make, model and any websites with good pricing?
I'm sorry if this info is already posted---am stilling getting familiar with the online files.
Some of the concrete highways out my way are quite broken up and rough--even at greatly reduced speeds (50-55 mph).
Am thinking that riding on air will smooth out the ride and be better for the MH & passengers.
Am open to other recommendations/tips.
Thanks,
Todd Borger

I had the Firestone Ride Rite bags installed and ordered them from here:
http://www.streetsideauto.com/ (http://www.streetsideauto.com/)
The price was good and the service was excellent as I had to send back a compressor with a bent fitting and no hassles.

I have the Firestone Ride Rite air bags on my C5500. You can get them from Summit Racing (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FIP-2362/) . Easy install after removing the rear tires. Had to drill 2 hole on each side. My C5500 has a air compressor so I just teed off one of the lines and installed a air gauge and control on the dash. Air Gauge and Switch. (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FIP-2149/)
If you need a compressor Summit carries them also. Compressor (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FIP-9284/) .

Thanks, Ron. I'll look into it.
Bilstein shocks do not make air shocks/springs? if I read right.
