Levelers

OK, so I know it is not a good practice to store you motorhome with jacks down, but that be said, does anyone do it and if so, have you had any problems? I assume they would have to be kept lubricated and worked at least once a month, or am I still going out on a limb here.

I have had our levelers down over a month without any trouble. I do not take any wheels off the ground unless working on tire. Even then I use support with a jack.

I can certainly see why the polished rods could be tarnished or contaminated with grit and then that grit would work against the seals.

What would be an acceptable maintenance cycle of exercising the leveler arms?

My jacks are down whenever MH is parked overnight. But at home I have 6X6 blocks under each jack. This cause jacks to extend only 4" to level MH and take some load off springs and tires. I do retract and then re-level every month. Same when we spend more than a month during our winter travels. Been doing it for 10 years.
