I found this interesting as we spend the winter in the Sarasota area and I seem to recall that it is the lightning capital of North America. Given we have replacement cost coverage maybe I should leave it there year round and hope it gets hit. :)
I've heard of a few cases (and seen one at a dealer) where everything electronic was fried by a surge caused by lightning. Cost of repair was $18,000.
