The Big Swap-eroo... March 21, 2009, 11:29:43 am Yahoo Message Number: 2363After a lot of pondering, research and wheelin' and dealin', this pastweek I drove our 07 Jayco 33DS Greyhawk to a dealership in PA andswapped it for a low miles 07 Endura 6340. Having been pleased with theKodiak gasser in the Greyhawk, we went the same route with the Endura. The round trip (about 1,400 miles) was very pleasant and reaffirmed myaffection for the Kodiak chassis and drivetrain (even without anychassis upgrades).Overall this was sort of a fun project as I did everything via internetexcept the actual trip up to make the official swap. I was able toalmost entirely avoid dealing with "expert" RV sales reps who theprevious week were "expert" floor covering sales reps. I had decidedto focus on the 2006 model year as I felt I wouldn't have to come upwith much additional cash that way. I shopped coast-to-coast and thedeals offered were all over the place. Until I located this 07 model, the best deal on the table was a straight trade for an 06 Endura in AZ.That deal eventually broke down amid the logistics. Several dealerswanted $25K and above to make the trade. In comparing the Greyhawk to the Endura we had to make some compromisesbut overall we are very pleased with our decision. For us, right up nearthe top of the list on the plus side are the thermopane windows andenclosed plumbing and tanks.I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Ron Hall for his advice aswell as his ongoing contributions to the various boards and fora. He'sbeen sort like the Bob Villa of Kodiak motorhomes for a lot of us :-)Bill Quote Selected
