Kodiak Gauge Cluster

Hey gang,
Have any of you had your Gauge Cluster fail yet? If so, did you have it repaired/replaced by the dealer, or use one of the rebuilding services like one of those on Ebay? What was the cost?

Thanks,
Bill

There are several places to get a gauge cluster repaired. Check EBAY. I hope I never need one. But did luck out finding a new one that sets in my shop just in case. The stepper motors go out. They can be purchased cheap off EBAY. There is a repair procedure on DP.

Even though I did this kind of work for a living. I would probably send it out for the repairs. There is a good one in Flint, MI that specializes in the C4500-5500 clusters. http://www.usspeedo.com/
It is where I got my spare cluster.

Thanks Ron.
I did some looking at some of the rebuilding web-sites, and one of them mentioned that if you have less then 70k miles, it might be covered under warrenty. So I contacted my buddy at the dealership, and he said that he should be able to get it covered. We'll see, I will take it in to the dealer next week. If they do not cover it, I will get it rebuilt elsewhere.
I will post what happens.

Thanks again,
Bill

Hey gang,
Just an update. Got my rig back from the Chevy dealer yesterday. Replaced the whole gauge cluster, at no cost to me.

I am back in biz.
