A couple of things we've experienced lately.
Just prior to departing Fla and heading north for Xmas, DW called me to have a look at
something in the 32SS.
She had been packing some cases with the contents of the drawers under the TV in the
bedroom. She opened the top drawer and asked me to look behind the drawer. Oh boy,
Looking down there was a circular hole 2 inches or more in diameter and lots of daylight
coming through. The hole was for a water line and a power line. I didn't have any sealant
so I've plugged up the hole with the spongy pool noodle material. Very sloppy
workmanship when they leave holes like this wide open.
Monday, when back in FLA, we noticed the wheel cover cap lying on the ground. It had
fallen off the rear curb side dually. When I looked at it my first reaction was that
someone had tried to steal the wheel (hard to imagine - well impossible to imagine that in
our park with all the people around). The hub cover that is bolted on had partially
collapsed. Several neighbors looked at it and felt that it was metal fatigue. I send some
photos to my son who is in the auto mfg biz, and he said I should take a close look as
these covers could well be plastic. Frankly, they feel like metal to me but when I tap them
I'm not sure if they are aluminum (Alcoa wheels) or plastic. The cover that fell off says
"Made in China."
In any event I figure this has to be covered by warranty - but by GM or Jayco?
Anyone know if they are metal or plastic?
Our trip back didn't get off to a good start. We sailed over the Ambassador Bridge just
after 6 AM with hardly any traffic at all. When we started down the US side we ran into a
line of traffic a 1/4 way up and it took 1 hour and 10 minutes to get through. I'd swear
they had the 3 open booths manned by Larry, Curly and Moe. Slowest I've ever seen. The
payoff was that XM Radio Detroit Traffic and Weather reported again and again while we
sat in line that there were no holdups and that the tunnel had a 10 minute delay. Now I
have no faith in XM. Pity.
Just before departing our Chev dealer had to reprogram the engine management system of
the Tahoe. One of the reasons was to allow it to operated on E85 fuel. We have yet to use
such fuel but the result of the reprograming seems pretty good - an increase of about 2
MPG - we got a sliver under 20 MPG on the trip and that was after a first day 15 mpg
pushing a strong headwind from home to Windsor.
Well, it is going down to freezing here tonight. I was going to drain all the lines in the
32SS but now they say down to 31 for one hour only - around 6 AM. With the wind
Weather.com says it will feel like 20 deg. Only consolation is that it is much colder back
home and even though it will be 50 deg at home next Tuesday - it is forecast to be 82
here next Tuesday - keeping the 30+ degree difference. :)

Thanks for the link Paul. I went out and looked in daylight and they are plastic.
I don't see my particular model of cap here though. The wheel is the Classic.

I guess since this is part of the Kodiak Jayco could say see GM. Of course, as Denny just pointed out on RV.net, GM provides no power train warranty when the frame has been extended. I think one day that issue is really going to come home to roost.

Hi folks
Once again Don has found something on his unit that is replicated on
mine, the hole in the floor under the bedroom drawers. I also saw a lot
of daylight in the hole where the wires come up thru for the inverter.
Perhaps the worst part of that omission on Jayco's part is that it is in
the generator compartment so any fumes there can come into the coach.
I've never noticed any in the few times I've used the gen set, but it's
something to think about. Anyway I've filled them all with expandable
foam. Not pretty, but sealed. I also held the water lines and wire in
the center of the hole while I sprayed the foam so they are encased and
away from the edges of the whole.
The water lines that come up thru there are from the black water spray
lines and they have a vent at the top junction. The connectors weren't
screwed on tight at all, but then there isn't really any pressure on
them. I tightened them up like I've had to do with all the lines in the
coach. I will make a bracket and pad to keep them from bouncing against
the wall as they do right now.

We had same problem there and I got the foam that expands only a little and tried to fill but it is difficult getting around the wires. The black goop they use would be better - and it would have been nice if they could have done it right the first time. BTW - it is DW that finds many of these things.
We are hoping to go the factory (I'd better make my reservation soon) and will let them fix the back cap.
