Hi Gang, quick question, is there anything special about the Onan packaged generator oil...other than the price?

Are there any full synthetic options out there?

I'm not an Amsoil guy, but I buy Amsoil Small Engine Synthetic Oil for my generators.

I use synthetic diesel oil, 5W-40. Like Shell Rotella T6 or similar. My generator is diesel powered, but even for gasoline generator, the diesel oil is a good choice. FWIW also use the same in the engine for the MH. A 15W-40 diesel oil is dino, not synthetic, but could also work; however you asked about synthetic oil.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic oil in my gas Onan. Any quality oil will work, just be sure to adhere to the weight specified by the manufacture.

You could use Amsoil 15w-40 full synthetic
