Okay. Engine shut down, not completely, allowed us to get to town. Put in new fuel filter. Now engine won't start. Any ideas?
The lights said plugged fuel filter and water in fuel.
Check engine light also.

You probably didn't prime the filter enough. . You need to have a good flow of fuel out of the bleeder when you prime it. I've heard that it can take close to 100 pumps to fill the filter at times

The check engine light came on because of low fuel rail pressure. Not sure if it will reset itself after you get started. The water in fuel light should go out after you replace the filter and you will have to reset the clogged filter light using the directions in the owners manual Turn ignition to on,( don't start) push brake pedal and accelerator down together for 5 seconds, light should flash or just go out

When replacing the fuel filter, you need to fill up the filter with diesel and the install.
Been there done that, it happened to me. Now we know
