RV show report February 09, 2008, 11:59:22 am Yahoo Message Number: 606We had a great time at the show yesterday (Raleigh, NC) and the weatherwas perfect for it. We arrived at 10 AM and didn't leave until after 5 PM.Very few Kodiaks represented there at all. I saw only two Jayco Senecasand one Four Winds. We went to concentrate on Class A's since that would be the change Iwould make if we did anything. I was also looking for things around$140K and below which of course narrows the market quite a bit.One "deal" they were pushing that we liked was the Safari Simba 38DBSthat was a front diesel. The deal didn't seem bad and there was a lot tolike about the coach, but the idea of the diesel sitting down therebetween us causes me some concern since I've never been in one goingdown the road. Of course they're willing to take a deposit and do theroad test after the show :-)The other one we liked was a Bounder 35E that had all the features DWreally would like to have, but it was gas. I don't know if I really carewhether it's gas or diesel, but if gas I would have preferred the 8.1and Allison over the Ford V-10.Both coaches were new, but 2007 versions and they were pretty willing todeal, but in the end we didn't do anything. Of course we also justbought our Grayhawk in September so the idea of losing about $12K inthis short period kinda sets me back on my heels a bit. Making a higherpayment cuts into the play money and one has to decide how much he wantsto do that too.Lot's of neat stuff to see though and it was well attended. I'd love toknow how many deals are being written this weekend and how much theeconomy is affecting the market.Take care, Greg Quote Selected
