19,000lb rear axle? How can you tell?

Yahoo Message Number: 9189
I have a 2007 Jayco Seneca 34SS and I am looking to replace the shocks. The part number for the fronts are a no brainer, however, the rears could be two different shocks depending on whether there is a 19,000lb rear axle or not.

How can you tell which axle you have?

The stock rear shocks are part# 15174901.

Regards,

axles are the same.

the leaf springs are whats different.

if all leafs are the same thickness you have 15000 lb springs

if one leaf is noticeably thicker you have the 19000 lb leafs.

Thanks Don. I had checked the door post label and it states the rear is 15,000lb. According to the prior owner the suspension had been upgraded. I looked and sll three factory leafs in the rear are the same size, but two new leafs have been added on top It appears the shocks were never changed during the upgrade. Would I still be going for the 15,000lb shocks or would the two extra leafs make a difference here?
