2008 Four Winds Chateau 34H for sale

Yahoo Message Number: 10007
We have a 2008 Four Winds (Thor) Chateau 34H with the Duramax/Allison combo that we're thinking about selling to downsize to a smaller unit.

We bought the unit new, and it only has about 8500 miles on it (I can get the actual mileage if interested).

Does anyone know of anyone looking for a Kodiak Class C in great condition?

It has 2 slides, sleeps 8 and has the Onan diesel generator.

Thanks, Arin

Anyone interested in a low mileage Kodiak coach that is in excellent condition?

We're selling our 2008 Four Winds Chateau 34H (Duramax Diesel / Onan Diesel Gen). It only has 9,000 miles on it.

A slideshow of about 50 pictures can be found here:

What are you asking? You have the FW winds version of my Dutchmen, in my opinion these are less 'upscale' than the Senecas, however a better package as they weigh in at thousands of pounds less, have more towing and more headroom inside the coach.

I might be interested in it for a rental.

Hi Victor,

We're looking for $107,000 - which is based on the NADA "Average Retail" for our unit with it's options (Duramax, Diesel Gen, etc.).

As you can tell from the pictures our coach is in absolutely excellent condition, has never been smoked in, no pets, no shoes on the carpet, etc.

We're not interested renting - but thanks for checking.

Thanks, Arin

A little help when you use the NADA site. Almost every item on the options list is/was standard on most of the super C's. For my area I get $63,000 to $80,000 on your model MH.

That is true - most came delivered with a lot of 'standard' stuff and in may cases they show under standard equipment so you do not add anything to the options list. It was curious that under his Chateau that part was blank.

Hi Don, Not pushing for a quick sale -

Local dealer offered $85k on trade, so if we were in a rush we would have taken that.

I think the NADA listing with the single "#" is for the diesel engine w/LP generator model, and the "##" is the diesel w/diesel gen.

MSRP on our unit was $134k when new in '08. We obviously didn't pay that price, but still paid a decent dollar for the until (Again, we bought new).

It is in absolutely excellent condition (no smoking, no pets, no shoes on the carpet, VERY clean, etc.).

We do love the unit, so if no one is interested we may end up hanging on to it.

I have seen a few others posting about the "options" list on the NADA not being something to consider because many of the "options" were considered standard. I'll have to take another look at the NADA option list vs. what was listed as an "option" on our original invoice.

I know some of the items were true options, such as the Diesel Gen, and I am seeing the NADA credits about $3k for that particular "option".

Anyway - we still have a loan on the unit, and need to get enough for it to pay that off or there's no point in selling at this time.

Thanks for all the feedback (from everyone) - I'll do some digging into the factory options list before I list it on RV Trader and others.

Thanks, Arin

Arin,

what Ron, Victor and myself are saying is that your asking price of $109,000.00 is too high.

with a trade in allowance of 85k the dealer is inflating your trade in value and is probably adding those inflated dollars to the new rig your looking to buy.

take the msrp and deduct 30 - 35% and thats roughly what you should be able to buy a new rig for.

as an example, when we bought our 2010 jayco seneca new in 2010 the msrp was $166,931.00 with the options.

purchase price, cash out the door was $114,000.00. (and after the fact i think i paid too much)

Maybe it will sell high? I see many priced in that $100K+ range. The NEW Replacement coaches are way more money and these are a really good value overall and a better deal than many of the new coaches. If they well kept like his (and mine), and maintain a warranty they should yield top dollar.

I would be stoked to get $85K trade on mine. My MSRP was in the same range as his (~$135K) and I paid $65K for mine brand new in 2008 when the economy took a shit and GE Capital was selling the flooring inventory.

If I can get $85K for mine and about 40-45% off MSRP for a 2012/12 Embark TB3900 I will take it and run run run. OR I am looking at a Haulmark 282DS which is a really kick-ass coach - way better than the Embark.

My coach is perfect, stored indoosr 50 AMP service , Dual A/C, leather, back-up camera, three flat panel TVs, Diesel GenSet etc. etc. The only options not on it were Auto-retract awning and outside entertainment center which I did not want either anyway.

Victor,

what chassis is the 282ds built on?

i traded my 2010 jayco for our 2008 haulmark 3303ts with a guy from vegas in may of 2011. the seneca plus $65,000.00 was the deal.

i put a value of $172,000.00 (low nada book)for his haulmark and he put a value of $107,000.00 on my seneca thats where the 65k came from.

i put a picture of our haulmark in the photos section.

don

ps: Arin, see above, my 2010seneca sold for $107,000.00 in may of 2011.

Good to know - thanks Don.

I'll probably start putting up some listings tomorrow or Friday so I'll let you guys know what we decide to list it for, and what it actually sells for.

We do really like the unit, so if there doesn't end up being much interest in it above $10X,000 - then we may keep it for a while.

We do LOVE the Duramax!

I have seen yours and have the photos on my phone too!

Volvo D-12D Chassis, powered By Volvo's most powerful and efficient pre-emission turbo-diesel engine - 475HP I believe. ZF 12 Speed Automatic Transmission With Locking Differential. 40K LB. Tow Rating.

The one I am looking at has under 20K miles and a friend is selling it.
