Help - Electric awning won't retract

Storms coming in Dodge City, KS and my awning won't retract. I got on the roof with some help and rolled the tube to close it, but of course the motor isn't holding it so I've got a bungee on it right now to the rail.

Sounds like the motor is trying to turn but it's not rolling the tube.

Happened to me during a rain and wind storm. When I tried to retract the motor would attempt it but no movement. Had to open the casing to get to the mechanism and found a gear had broken. Had to order a new motor with the gears as a unit even though the motor itself was fine.
Meantime best to roll by hand bit by bit and secure with nylon tiedowns.
