When the temperature gets close to 100° the generator kicks off on overheating is that normal? This has only happened when I'm running the air conditioning so far

Is that 100 degrees C or F? I assume C since our swimming pool was over 90F.

onan says there's too overheating sensors one in the engine and one in the alternator when you're running the generator at 80% load on 102° day it's a good chance it will shut off on overheat. That engine water temperature can get up to 190 without tripping so mine was tripping from hot alternator. The pavement I was parked on was 126

That's good info on the alternator temp sensor. My Dutchman 35B diesel generator always overheats when running both ACs at the same time in Arizona. I always thought it was the water temp because it's over 100 degrees air temp outside. Maybe the heat and AC load are too much for the alternator to sustain. My generator runs good using only one AC whether driving or parked.
