Bad Water Taste - Auto retract funtion on steps

Yahoo Message Number: 866
My wife and I Just purchased a Greyhawk 32SS and have loved it so
far. We have a small problem though that others may have come
across. Our water has a funny taste to it. The Motor home had been
winterized by the dealership before we picked it up. They did drain
the liquid and refilled it, and I have done that as well. It does
still have a funny smell and taste. Does anyone have suggestions on
how to cure this? We have heard that baking soda will work, but don't
have a good way to get it in. I tried to poor the liquid into the
fill hose and push it through with water and that didn't work to well.

My second question is that I've heard the auto retract function on the
steps can be directly wired so they will retract any time the engine
is started. Have others done this and if so does anyone have any
instructions?

Only thing I can think of is using a bleach solution for your water tank. We did that with our three previous MHs (first used next 2 new). Didn't bother doing that for the Jayco though. We always carry gallon jugs of spring or drinking water from Wally World - and even use them here in our park.

Our steps automatically retract when we start the engine. I take it yours don't?

We put the button for the steps (by the door) to off when it is parked (as it is now) so that they stay out regardless of whether or not the door is open. When I pull in the slides, raise the jacks and start start the engine it doesn't matter what position the switch is in - the steps come in immediately (same as with our prior MHs).
