towing capability

Yahoo Message Number: 1489
Hi, my name is Alex Santos, and I just bought our very first RV, which is a 2007 Jayco Greyhawk, and I am planning to tow our 2000 Toyota 4 runner, 4wd. Is the Greyhawk, capable? I welcome any advice, lessons learned and tips that will help me and my wife for our first trip in Las Vegas this coming Thanksgiving. I am looking for any response I can get.

Thanks,
Alex and Carmen from El Paso.

I tow a 5700 lb Tahoe and it has no problems. What model do you have?

Don,
The one we're planning to tow is our 2000, Toyota 4 Runner. According to the data plate; GVWR is 5,250. So I guess, if it can tow you Tahoe, I should have no problem. Thanks, Alex

Alex,

Be sure your Toyota is towable... somewhere around 2000 the 4x4 became non-towable... not sure when... if you have an electronic transfer case, rather than a manual one, I think that is the determinant factor....

And Don, Audrey and I extend our condolences to your family....
