Sidewall separation on Dutchmen

Yahoo Message Number: 225

Somewhere I read a post about another Dutchmen owner that had to have the sidewalls replaced because they were delaminating.

I noticed today that on both sides, there are areas where a "seam" is bulging under the exterior lamination, both areas are near the roof line, and the "bulge" is vertical and appears to be where two sheets under the skin join together. Each bulge is about a foot in length. I can't remember who wrote the post, but I would like to find out if that was what he noticed on his coach as well.

It wasn't me, but I had a Prowler travel trailer that delaminated and
that sounds about like the symptoms. My model year had a horizontal seam
down the side and it bulged, that was the first sign. Then it showed on
the inside with soft walls and eventually completely rotten. It was
beyond warranty and Fleetwood blamed it on poor maintenance. Since I'm
beyond anal with my RV's I didn't buy it, but it was their word against
mine. I tore the walls out, laminated new ply to the inside of the fylon
skin and reframed, insulated, and paneled. A HUGE job and not one I
would try again.

Take care,
Greg
