The weather is terrible. We got 8" on Friday and Saturday now they are saying 18" on Wednesday so hopefully by the weekend when we leave we can have some clear roads. Never seen it this bad in Arkansas with temps in the single digets and that much snow. Hopefully Texas will be warmer. Dane

Central Texas Weather Update: Sweetheart Rally....

Well, it has been no cake walk so far in the Texas Hill Country. Everything is relative, so folks have been stretched by some snow dusting and ice this last week. The drivers here are not used to it, and the support services are not ready. We have been busy dropping off blankets for the the homeless shelters in Central Texas (Red Cross). We opened one emergency shelter last week. We set up another but it was not needed. Salvation Army cleans the blankets and then we get them back to the shelter for the next night...

We have another couple of days this week where the temps are supposed to drop into the 20's at night.

The good news is that it looks on the projections that our weather is clearing, and it should be good temperatures for the Sweetheart Rally. Still we may have some rain, and it can get nippy, so be prepared. Also remember that it was 78 degrees the day before our cold snap, so you just have to be ready for anything here.

The good news is that you can leave your muckalucks at home, and no snow expected again this year. So High 60s in the day and 30s at night is what I think you can expect. Caveat Internet.

Kevin

In the NW we have the opposite problem. No snow. I just got On Spot chains and am excited to try them out.
