Onan 5.5 diesel generator

What is the best type oil to use for this type generator ??
Where did you pick it up at ?? Looked at it for really first time today
with oil changing in mind, not very damn much room to try to work !!!!!

Any 15-40 Diesel oil would be fine. The oil filter the first time off can be real fun.

Gary,
I use 15-40 Mobil 1, don't put tons of hours on genset but this synthetic has about the best moisture, dry start protection, heat transfer, viscosity maintenance well it rates high with me. Never a problem....

Forgot to mention I dont know if your genset is the same as the Endura BUT there is a inspection plate accessable from under the engine this exposes the drain and the filter you do need a filter wrench that works at right angle, no sweat..ALSO the engine is a Kuboto diesel get the numbers and this doubles access to filters.
