Water Leak November 10, 2008, 03:44:58 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1949Just a heads up for all you Jayco Seneca owners. The plastic, screwon fitting on the outlet port of the water heater vibrated loose justenough to to flood the space below the clothes closet in our 34SS.This has now happened twice, once on city water and again using theonboard water pump. A friend also had this happen on his 34SS.My temporary fix was to install a radiator hose clamp with a 1 1/2long bolt at a right angle to the clamp to act as a stop if thefitting should try to loosen again.Paul Quote Selected

The water heater is in the rear corner under the closet and isthis where you made the fix? Quote Selected
Re: Water Leak Reply #2 – November 11, 2008, 03:03:01 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1951A heads up for the heads up, my Endura and my Four winds before it did the same thing the plastic thumb tight fittings vibrate loose and flood compartments. It has happened to us twice in two different units. If you over tighten by hand you strip out the fittings. The one (the last leak) in the Endura had to be glued. Got us to our park glue held good enough to forget about it. I will replace the entire connection configuration in this area. Too much strain on the connections tubing is too short. Tension was the root of the problem. Vibration will always be a problem in the RV world wait till your potable water tank drain vibrates open and drains tank down on the way to a remote site.good luckMike Quote Selected

Yes, ourH2O tank is under the closet and next to the rear end cap and this iswhere I installed the clamp/bolt lash-up.The radiator clamp is attached to the brass fitting on the tank andthe bolt is captured under the clamp protruding out towards thebedroom at a right angle to the clamp (one each for both the inlet &outlet). The shaft of the bolt is positioned to rest under the tab onthe plastic connector to stop it from rotating loose.Paul Quote Selected
