More questions on improving ground clearance August 04, 2008, 01:03:17 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1540I have pretty much decided to get either the Ride Rite or Airlift bagsafter this "season." I don't have air brakes, so I will need toinstall a compressor/air reservoir. That seems to be the best way to get some extra height in the rear. Iam not sure how much, but I need to do something. I will also lookinto welding a wheel on bottom of the trailer hitch, after justdigging a deep groove in a street with the little triangle piece onthe bottom of the hitch.I was also thinking of modifying the generator exhaust. Currently itis about 4" below the body and drags occasionally. I was thinking ofchanging it so it only hangs an inch or two below the body, so it isless likely to drag. Do any of you think this would be a problem? Ihaven't checked, but I wouldn't think it gets hot enough to damage theRV if there is at least an inch of clearance? Quote Selected

Re: More questions on improving ground clearance Reply #2 – August 04, 2008, 03:17:49 pm Yahoo Message Number: 15421" clearance with a gas generator may be a problem. They get fairlyhot. The generator exhaust on my MH originally came out the side underthe rear slide. Not good. Rerouted it out the rear. Closes it comes toanything is 2" where it exits rear of MH. So far no damage to the rearpanel of MH. The diesel generator that I have does not get as hot a agas model. I need to get thething moved somewhere before it falls off. Quote Selected

I suppose I could try somethingsimilar but need to be sure it is above the part of the hitch that drags. Quote Selected
