Negotiations with Four Winds/Thor

As a side note to the way Four Winds calculate numbers, I have been negotiating with Thor Industries general counsel for a replacement RV... The difference I was going to have to pay with my coach as a trade-in was $40,000, and I was asking them to pay that amount. They calculated the MSRP of the new coach at approximately $134,000, and after deducting the $40,000 difference, they said that the dealer was allowing me $94,000 towards my coach, and it's NADA Retail value was $78,000. Since the dealer, in their mind, was offering me $16,000 more than my coach was worth, they would not contribute towards the purchase. They offered $5,000 instead. I'm surprised they didn't ask me to pay them the $16,000 difference!
