Year/Make questions for Seneca

Guys, just want to verify before I start buying engine parts/tuners for this 2007 Seneca. I'm pretty sure it is a 2006 motor since the GM manufacturing tag is 12/06 and the sticker on the outside of the airfilter unit says 2006. Jayco manufactured the rest in 3/07 to make it a 2007. Am I on the right page here to order 2006 parts, does anyone for sure know what Duramax this motor is (LL??)

The year of the motorhome is the year the motorhome builder completed the build, however, as far as the chassis is concern, if the tenth digit of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is a "6", you have a 2006 chassis, if the tenth digit of the VIN is a "7", you have a 2007 chassis.

Above the driver's side sunvisor is a "Service Parts Identification" label, you will find the LL? listed on that label.

The eighth digit of the VIN states the engine installed; a "2" is the 6.6L LLY.

If and when you need parts be sure to order LBZ parts for the model years 2006-2007. These engines are LBZs even though the tags indicate LLY.

Best way to tell if you have a 06 or 07 chassis is if it has a DPF in the exhaust. A Engine Chassis built in December of 2006 would be a 2007. My preference would be a 2006 chassis without the DPF. Go to DP and ask for a VIN Check. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=72 . Or ask a GM dealer for the Vin report.

I believe that the 2007/5 would be and LMM. A good friend has an early 07 and it is an LBZ. Mine is and early 06 and is an LBZ. The electronics are different in the 06/07s as to what tuners can be used. When I got my Edge it would communicate with the ECM and thats when I found out I had an LBZ with CanBuss ECM/BCM.
I had to order a later tuner.
