More electrical problems February 17, 2008, 10:31:51 pm Yahoo Message Number: 647A while back I mentioned no power to the outlet for the TV and DVD(that is connected to the 400 W inverter). Today I got the feeling, after thinking about the issue of the tv not working when the vehiclemoves, that perhaps having the chassis battery disconnected caused theproblem with that outlet. So, I reconnected the chassis battery prior to exercising thegenerator today. No luck. Then, started the generator and things got worse. Front A/C would notgo on. Then noticed that the microwave went off, and eventually foundthat the ground fault in the bathroom had jumped when the generatorstarted. Could not get it reactivated. Back AC and power outletsworked OK. Turned off generator and pushed in the GFCI and the frontAC worked OK on shore power as did the other outlets EXCEPT for the TVoutlet tied to the inverter.Started the Gen again and again the GFCI triggered.Another item to add to our list for Jayco in April when we visitMiddlebury.Anyone have any idea what the problem is? Transfer switch?Donps. We are up to 95 members of the group now. Sure have had a run inthe last few weeks. Quote Selected
Re: More electrical problems Reply #1 – February 17, 2008, 10:55:59 pm Yahoo Message Number: 648Don, When we get a new member, he/she could maybe introduce themselves and tell us what they are driving?? I know they don't HAVE to do it, but can we at least "gently" nudge them? I am as shy as heck when I want to be, but the neat thing about this group is that nobody needs to be shy... you and I have "chatted" back and forth for weeks, and have never met, right?Denny Quote Selected
Re: More electrical problems Reply #2 – February 17, 2008, 11:11:07 pm Yahoo Message Number: 649Denny, when I was on the Monaco Coach Forum almost all participants (except me) had signatures that included details of their Monaco Coach Corp (Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Safari, Beaver) units. I guess we should start that here.Don Leslie2007 Jayco Greyhawk 32SSToad - 2007 Tahoe LTZBlue Ox base plates and tow bar.Brake BuddyPrior hardware06 HR Amb 40PLQ ISC 330/950 9/05-5/0704 Winnie Jrny 39W CAT C7 7/04-9/05)00 Triple E Commander 5/03-5/04Toad04 Colorado Z71 quad cab 04 to 06 box cap and bedroller On 17-Feb-08, at 10:55 PM, Quote Selected

Re: More electrical problems Reply #4 – February 18, 2008, 12:03:49 pm Yahoo Message Number: 651Hmmm. Why didn't I think of that given a past experience with our HR. The Cummins dealer flipped the breakers when servicing and didn't put them back on. There, both were off and we had no power. Found it as we were leaving for Florida, put it on the MCC forum and in 2 minutes got a reply saying check the breakers.I just checked them on the 5500 Onan and both were on. Fired up the gen, flipped the 2 breakers off and on, went in and the outlets and microwave worked ok. Better try the AC this afternoon to make sure. Will be nice to have that off the list. Thanks 55DonOn 18-Feb-08, at 11:20 AM, nchorselover55 wrote: Quote Selected
Re: More electrical problems Reply #5 – February 18, 2008, 01:52:00 pm Yahoo Message Number: 652It's was tough when I worked as an RV tech, showing up at a callflipping a breaker, or switch, or reset button.... and collecting a$65 service call fee. And, it wasn't uncommon. Many days I'd do adozen calls in an 8 to 10 hours day. One day I had 20 calls.QuoteHmmm. Why didn't I think of that given a past experience with ourHR.
