Sold the Endura and bought a diesel pusher class A to live in. Learned much from this sight, contributed little glad to have been a part of the group.

Enjoy the new coach Mike, you don't really have to leave just because
you went with a Class A....we let Don hang around (forget that he owns
it) just because we're nice folks :-)

Thanks Greg. I'm so humbled. :)

Mike, Greg beat me to it but I was going to PM you and suggest you stay on if you are interested.

While a good portion of the issues addressed here are Kodiak related, a lot are generic to motorhomes.

BTW, what model MH did you buy?

We've been through two DPs - 39 ft 4 inch Winnie Journey and a 40 ft 10 inch HR Ambassador with a great floor plan. They were superb on the Interstates.

I miss the torque and the exhaust brakes they had.

If we don't try to keep you grounded, you may decide to go into politics!

I still lust for a Fleetwood 40X, but after this repair bill on the
Kodiak and then tires coming up next, I don't think I could stand the $$$$$

Yes, nice MH Here is one sitting in warmer weather with your name on it. http://lazydays.com/RVs/Inventory/Fleetwood-RV/Discovery/1015023

In the last few years most of the manufacturers have really made an effort to produce units with very nice floor plans. This is a good example.

No question a diesel has a LOT more complexity and as a result cost.

Our current unit on an E450 is over two years old and maintenance cost has been peanuts. Ford dealer sold me 5 oil changes and filters for $99. It wasn't really intended for an E450 but they are honouring it.

When one walks around a place like Lazydays (or the shows) it is easy to become swept up in lust for some great looking units. I'm hoping to resist the temptation for a few more years - then I can declare myself too old for a MH. :)

Oh you ARE Mr Helpful, but I'm trying to stay away from things that cost
as much as my house :-) Kathy really loves the 40X's that are newer than
about 2011 because they moved the washing machine out of the bath and
made it stackable in the bedroom. She's still not getting one :-)

Hey...I bought her a Smartcar :-)

Kathy loved the mid livingroom because it's different than the standard
floorplan you see all the time. I counter with there's a reason that
standard floor plan is still around - it sells best.

I keep telling myself if I have to think about that, then I can't afford it.

I really can't complain about the truck side of things with the gasser
Kodiak. I do my own oil changes and lubes. There's a truck place not
too far away that is good and will do anything else I need.

Wow, that was nice of them. The one thing I do miss about a regular
truck is I could get it worked on anyplace.

We sure found that out when we went to the one in Hershey, PA last year.
Wow, what a show!

We're resisting in hopes we can afford for Kathy to fully retire next year.
