Fuel and engine temp gauge issue July 14, 2013, 03:23:55 pm Yahoo Message Number: 11477On the trek from folsom ca to yellowstone yesterday, a strangeThing happened about halfway thru Nevada. The fuel and temp gauges pegged out at the max endat the same time. I had filled up so I knew the fuel leveland also have a scangage, so I knew the engine temp. Both gauges went completely off the charts on the high end.Im thinking something happened to the electric actuators in thedash panel. Eventually, the gas gauge started to behave better but theTemp did not.Anyone else experience this on their kodiaks? Mine's a 2004 gason an '05 Endura 6340. Great weather here in YNP and I even getA little 3G signal!Any info apprrciated. ThxDave... Quote Selected
Re: Fuel and engine temp gauge issue Reply #1 – July 14, 2013, 03:46:21 pm Yahoo Message Number: 11478I have. Same model but a diesel. Should not make a difference. First thing I did was replace gauge cluster. This solved the problem for a while. Had the same problem again this last winter. Replaced chassis battery and problem went away. Make sure you have a good ground connection on battery and frame also.If the battery does not solve problem. Then check out gauge cluster. It is a common thing for stepper motors for gauges to fail. Some times it is as simple as making sure you have a good connection on connector that is under dash near end of steering column.BestRon Hall Quote Selected
