Endura - A Few Updates

Yahoo Message Number: 3278
I've been slowly making some updates to get things a bit more livable
inside. Pictures are posted in the photos section under "07 Gulfstream
Endura".

The galley overhead cabinet was basically an open box with doors which
made for a lot of unusable space. I added a shelf which improved things
considerably.

Next to the medicine chest in the bath are some open shelves. DW said
the shelves would be more functional if they had some sort of railing. A
trip to Home Depot produced some decorative railing material sold in 3
ft lengths. A little cutting, sanding & staining and she's happy.

Over the entry door is another set of open shelves and to the left is
another cabinet with doors with no shelving (like the galley). I added a
shelf to the closed cabinet and added more decorative railing to the
open shelving.

I doubt I'll ever catch up to Ron with modifications and updates but
it's fun and every little bit makes a difference.

Wow. Great job. Thank you for taking the time to do the photos. - - All I did was make more room in the electronics cabinet to hold the sound system and give more room for the cable switch. I made such a mess of it that Sandy did not speak to me for a few days. Excellent work, when you are done over there - can you spend a week in my rig! ;-)

I like the mods.
The galley and cabinet/shelves over door have not been done yet on ours. The GS info case is stored in the one with doors Not much room for anything else. DW keeps our binoculars in there also. The open shelves is where we keep our wine glasses. They have spring loaded rods that make it easier to take glasses in and out. The galley shelf is something I will have to check on. That's where my morning cereal and coffee maker are stored. Not sure there is room for a shelf when those items are in there. Did I miss the pictures of over the door mods?

Come up to MI next year. I am sure we could get a couple of mods done while you are camped in our backyard.

Whoops... I just uploaded pictures of the "over the door after" mods.

One of the trickiest parts was coming up with stains to get relatively close to the surrounding cabinets. Lots of trial and error with scrap pieces of wood.

They look great. What was color that worked for you cabinets? Our oak cabinets use Classic Oak with a touch of Old Maple. I use Poly Shades.
