Founder's Awards

Yahoo Message Number: 5231
At this year's Kodiak Rally, Ron Hall did an outstanding job of making the arrangements with the Elkhart Campground (our location was great), drafting the program, preparing name tags, preparing the welcome kit, obtaining handouts from suppliers, arranging the visit to Jayco for the factory tour and focus group for the Kodiak chassis replacement, and then giving detailed chassis and house maintenance sessions.

In addition, everyone has had front row seat to observe his day in and day out contributions here on the forum as a moderator.

So, to Ron Hall goes our FirstKodiak Chassis Class C Yahoo Group Founder's Award for making an outstanding contribution to the success of this Group.

Now, I think a second award is also appropriate.

If one follows the broken Norcold fridge hinge affair, Greg Gimlick has stuck with it through thick and thin for the last 6 to 8 months.

He organized our Norcold poll and continually followed up with his contacts.

Then, he obtained a supply of support brackets and mailed them and installation instructions to everyone who had requested one.

He paid for the padded envelopes and postage out of his own pocket.

Given that I experienced a fridge door falling off when the hinge broke (the day after we raised the issue with Jayco at the Rally) I know the frustration of holding a door in your hand and wondering what to do next.

So, to Greg Gimlick goes our SecondKodiak Chassis Class C Yahoo Group Founder's Award for his persistence in getting a hinge fix for us.

On behalf of the members of the Group, thank you Ron and Greg. We appreciate your efforts.

Don

Greg, would it be possible to get one of those brackets? I've already had to replace one fridge door that fell off. If possible just let me know what to do. I would gladly pay for it.

Thanks

Paul Robinson

Ron is like having an encyclopedia on a daily basis, no doubt he is
worthy of any award we can give him. :-)

Well I'm just gob-smacked.....thanks a lot :-) It was no big deal really
and I'm certainly glad the pieces fell together for us....it's better to
be lucky than good :-)

Seriously, I appreciate the thought.

Take care,
Greg

That all depends on which side your hinge is on. The right side hinges
ran out quickly as apparently there are more of those in our rigs than
the others.

BUT, if you need a left hand hinge then you are in luck because I have
one hinge left. If you look at your door and the hinge is on the left,
then send me your address and I'll send the last one out to you.

Take care,
Greg

In my case it was being lucky instead of good - again. We did have a
couple of guys let me know they were trading their units and wouldn't
need the one that was designated to go to them. Had they not been so
considerate, I would have not have the last couple to send out.

Unfortunately now, the well is dry.

Take care,
Greg

Just don't what to say except THANK YOU. All the members on this forum make it easy to be part of it.
The rally was made easy because of the attendees.
Thanks to everyone.

Be careful Ron. The members in the SW may feel a rally in Arizona this winter is a sound idea and you will be back to work. :)

We winter in Mission, TX so any meeting in TX would be great for us
. Let us know and we will be there. We are really sorry that we missed the Elkhart meeting but that could not be helped.

Russ and Kevin have both said they would try to make the Sweetheart Rally in Kerrville, TX. It will be close to Valentines Day.

John

Okay so now that you're planning....how about something over Christmas
in central FL. We hope to spend Christmas at the Great Outdoors if my
wife's office cooperates with time off this year.

Take care,
Greg
