Exhaust Trouble 2009 Senaca HD

Yahoo Message Number: 11167
Ok, driving home from an event in PA, a driver waved us down to tell us our exhaust was hanging down low to the ground. We had no impacts or noise. Pull into the Tractor Supply lot and found that what appears to be the rear end of the catalytic converter had snapped off. No rust or anything evident. I'll get it taken apart and see if anyone local can fix it or if I need to order a new part. Having trouble searching online for a replacement part but it appears to be approx $850 for a new one. Anyone care to share any insights? I did a Google search and found several message board posts about the same problem on 2005-2008 RV's with the Duramax engine. Seems no one has found a reason for the breaks although one driver did have it happen three different times about 20,000 miles apart.
