POWERED 50 Amp. CORD REEL

Yahoo Message Number: 15650
Has anyone installed a powered cord reel in their Seneca 35GS? The existing 50 amp. cord is getting heavier every year and is a pain to handle. If you installed a powered cord reel did you install it in the rear drivers compartment and then make a permanent hard wired connection to the transfer switch. I see Shoreline reels at AMAZON for around $540.00.
Please share your experiences.

I dumped that cord the first week I had ours. If you look at total load on each leg I doubt you will find 5O amps on either side. I bought a new Marinco twist lock, a 50 amp male plug and 30' of # 8/4 cord and made a new power cord. Lighter and a lot easier to coil up.
